ABOUT SCAMP CAMP

SCAMP is a five-week summer program developed and designed for children and young adults with special needs. It runs from June 24th to July 31st (except for the week of July 4) from 9:00am-2:00pm Monday through Wednesday. The cost of SCAMP is $700 for Clarkston in-district and $1,100 for out of district.  There is financial assistance for those in need.  The actual cost of the camp is much higher than the tuition but we strive to keep costs as low as possible for our families.

SCAMPers range in age from 3 to over 40 years old. There is almost a 1:1 ratio of SCAMPers to counselors/volunteers. Social-emotional support is provided, as well as physical and behavioral support to ensure a safe environment for everyone while fostering a sense of belonging and community. The camp is more than just an exciting place for the SCAMPers; this program provides a growing and learning opportunity for both the young adults hired to be aides or volunteers for the SCAMPers, as well as a respite for the SCAMPers' families who care for them.

SCAMPer certifications include, but are not limited to: autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairment, social-emotional impairment, physical impairment, other health impairment, hearing impairment, vision impairment, severe multiple impairment, speech-language impairment, learning disability, early childhood development delay, etc.
